IWRM-net Scientific Coordination Project (SCP) Final Conference
Brussels, 21st & 22nd October 2014

The IWRM-Net Scientific Coordination Project (IWRM-Net SCP) aimed to provide support to the research projects' funded by IWRM-Net 2nd call both on administrative and technical aspects. The goals included embedding the IWRM-Net funded research in the scope of the European Research Area (ERA-Net).

As coordinator, the International Office for Water had three main goals :
• To be the interface between the research projects funded by IWRM-Net, the funders and more widely with IWRM-Net partners ;
• To create synergies among research projects, between projects and IWRM-Net partners research programmes and other networks ;
• Support the dissemination of IWRM-Net funding initiatives in an integrated manner to IWRM-Net funders, to the scientific community and last but not the least, to the potential users (i.e. water policy makers and managers).
From 2010 to 2014, the following six European research projects funded within the IWRM Net ERA-Net second call investigated new solutions for integrated water resources management in Europe, under three main themes :
• Climate change and adaptation,
• Water scarcity and droughts,
• Economics and social values for integrated water management.
