Further to recent meetings, discussions and notifications, the Water JPI is currently updating the VISION 2030 and STRATEGIC RESEARCH AND INNOVATION AGENDA (v3.0). This notice confirms THE PUBLIC CONSULTATION PROCESS IS NOW OPEN!

The EPA has generated an ONLINE SURVEY as part of the public consultation process and welcome your feedback to ensure both of the revised documents are relevant and robust. Furthermore the results of this survey will inform a series of workshops (e.g. National; Consultative; Expert/Stakeholders) in 2019.

  • STEP 1: Complete this survey and have your say on Water for the future: HTTPS://WWW.SURVEYMONKEY.COM/R/HAVEYOURSAYONWATER [1]
  • STEP 2: Circulate the survey (i.e. link below) to relevant stakeholders, colleagues etc. who may be interested in taking part in this process

Please note: SURVEY CLOSES  FRIDAY, 1ST FEBRUARY 2019

The Water JPI Vision document is the overarching road map that is reviewed every 10 years. It provides the context (trends, drivers and challenges) and outlines the JPI objectives and research questions responding to the issues and challenges facing the European water sector up to 2030 and beyond.

The purpose of the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) is to set out the guiding principles and identify the policy-relevant research priorities for the future, while making them openly accessible to all stakeholder groups, including policy makers, regulatory agencies, researchers, end-users (such as water enterprises, water managers) and the public. It charts the future water-related research, development and innovation in Europe and is reviewed every 5 years to ensure it remains relevant.

The current SRIA 2.0 sets out the strategic objectives and research priorities under five key themes. However, the next revision, must respond to both current and emerging global water challenges for the next 10 years and beyond.
